Because of the history, the repair shop replaced the logic board and Apple did cover it under the extended warranty, which has since expired. The original owner had apparently reported issues, had even scheduled a repair, then apparently sold it to me. Sometime in 2018 I had a local Mac repair shop look into it. It seems to have fan and stability issues after awhile along with the screen going all erratic. I bought this machine used 3-4 years ago.
